RYT 200

Nickname: Jules

Favorite food: My husband’s roasted vegetable pizza. It has everything, veggies, garlic, onions, olive oil, pecorino romano cheese, and a beautiful golden crust that holds it all together.

Favorite place: My home…I am definitely a homebody.

Guilty pleasure: Vodka Tonics with lots and lots of lime…yum!

Hobbies: Reading, movies, witnessing my kids discover their worlds, keeping order and balance in my home and life and supporting others to do the same through my Life Coaching practice.

Who do you most admire and why? Ellen Degeneres. She is hilarious, generous, supportive and courageous.

What is your favorite yoga pose and why? Balasana (Child’s Pose) it’s a humbling and surrendering pose. Sometimes, it takes a lot of strength and courage to come to this pose during class. When I honor that, I know I am doing yoga.

When did you start practicing yoga? I started with mega-gentle classes in 2007 after a lengthy illness. It was all I could do as my body was very weak. I loved how I felt physically and emotionally after every class. Over time my body and mind got stronger and wanted to do yoga every day.

Who are your teachers and where did you train? I am inspired by Deirdre Sargent, Marni Task, Jenn Harte, and Parker Bean,   I completed my 200-hour certification with Tami Schneider and the amazing teachers at Cleveland Yoga.  I have trained with Johnny Kest, Amy Ippoliti, and Seane Corn.  My students inspire me and teach me the most.

Describe your teaching style: Encouraging is the best word to describe my teaching style. I encourage my students to honor what they feel in their body and to respond with movement. My intention is to teach (and live) from a place where everyone leaves feeling better and happier.

What is your motto?  To be authentic! My favorite quote is from Ellen Degeneres – “Take the time to find out who you are and be that person”.  This is hard to do. I work on this every day.
