E-RYT 200 & RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher)
Sarah Clark fell in love with yoga years ago while backpacking through Central America. With the goal of stepping out of her comfort zone and trying something new, she attended her first yoga class on tiny Panamanian island and the rest - is history!
Realizing that she wanted to share her passion for yoga with others, enrolled in a teacher training program and began teaching in August 2014. Her teaching style is passionate, grounded, and greatly influenced by realizing that life begins and growth occurs outside of your comfort zone. She hopes to help her students discover that feeling of empowerment each time they step on their mats and to create an open and introspective space for her students. Since beginning her teaching journey, she has had the opportunity to practice and learn from renowned yoga teachers such as Bryan Kest and Tao Porchon-Lynch and she has also completed her Prenatal Yoga certification at Awaken Yoga in January 2018.
Sarah is also passionate about teaching "trauma-sensitive" yoga and has previously taught yoga classes at the Interval Brotherhood Home Addiction Recovery Center for two years and at the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties for six months. She has studied and witnessed the profound effects yoga can have on inner healing, which in part, inspired her to go back to school to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Malone University. She is very active in the Akron yoga community and leads the marketing efforts as a founding member of Elevate Akron, Akron’s largest yoga festival which takes place every summer and brings together thousands of students to share in the practice of yoga and community celebration.
