Back to Teachers

Director of Teacher Training, E-RYT 200

Who do you most admire and why? Anyone who has overcome the odds, with their joy and purpose still intact.

What is your favorite yoga pose and why? Utkatasana. For one, everyone can do Chair, it's so simple. Yet it's absolutely challenging. (And that combination fascinates me.) Secondly, I've experienced more emotions in chair than in any other pose. It has scared me. Angered me. Encouraged me. Rewarded me. And has even made me laugh hysterically. It's truly a remarkable pose.

When did you start practicing yoga? 2005

Who are your teachers and where did you train? Natasha Rizopoulos, Baron Baptiste, Johnny Kest, Wade Morissette, Tami Schneider, and Parker Bean, to name a very select few. The list would stretch for miles, if I could include each yogi peer (whether teacher or student) who has taught me something along the way. I got my 200-hr teaching certificate at Cleveland Yoga, in Beachwood, Ohio.

Describe your teaching style: Enthusiastic, yet grounded. My pace is steady and unrushed, so students have time to feel the poses work in their bodies. And so they have time to breathe.

What is your motto? "In everything give thanks." ---The Bible
