E-RYT 200

What drew me to get into yoga at first was the curiosity of what is Yoga. I was living in New York City in 2010 when I first discovered my first Hot Yoga ( Bikram Style) class. After that first class I felt euphoric and wanted to discover more. I moved back to Ohio and became certified in 2014 as a Yoga Instructor. I soon realize that yoga is not just a form of exercise but an investment in yourself. Investing in your practice can come in many shapes and forms. It stretches beyond the number of classes you attend each week, and it is certainly more beneficial than the purchase of a new mat or yoga clothes - though I do love my Lulus and Alo! Investing in your practice means diving into your practice in a deeper way to allow yoga to change your life. The return on this investment comes in the form of improvement to your mind, body and spirit which promotes optimal health. Yoga is a platform to gain a deeper understanding of all three of those components and to unify the benefits, which is the true purpose of Yoga. Therefore, I love teaching yoga and including this philosophy in my classes. I truly enjoy how I continue to grow and evolve into a better human being, along with encouraging others.

I started teaching in 2014 and never looked back, if anything I want to share this firing passion I have for Yoga with as many people as possible and continue to grow a strong community of love, light and compassion. Yoga Bliss is one of my Yoga studios homes and I truly appreciate getting to know my students personally and understanding their needs out of their practice. Yoga Bliss is where I first found my yoga practice in Ohio and I will never forget that first class of feeling I was at home. I don’t have a favorite style of yoga class to teach, since I teach many styles. My favorite style is seeing how the practice connects to each of my students and how it uplifts them after class. I teach a 5- Week Beginner Series monthly all the way to Power vinyasa classes. This 5-week workshop I took over in 2018 following my recovery from two orthopedic surgeries and I have had the honor of sharing this program with many across northeast Ohio. Prior to injuries to my hip and back, I was that Yogi that could do the challenging asanas and fun poses. During my recovery I had to relearn my practice. It was discouraging and frustrating, but a beautiful thing happened during this time - I gained perspective and learned to be grateful for my body and where I was in my life. It has allowed me to find a new connection with my students as I focus on teaching the best way to build a safe and fulfilling practice. With this new perspective, I desperately wanted to grow this workshop to help students achieve their goals and find a better understanding of this practice that we call Yoga.

Beginner Series Workshop is meant for the new student who has never taken a yoga class to the student who needs more understanding of the proper alignment and structure of each pose. This is a very open and safe platform for students to ask questions and engage with others as we can all learn something from one another! We aim to move beyond the ego during the first class so that we can allow ourselves to accept where we are in our practice and feel more comfortable on this journey. We also work to learn and understand that each yogi’s practice looks different and that is OK! I look forward to meeting you in the studio soon!! Xoxo Kim

Testimonials:

“I really enjoyed Kim’s Vin to Yin class as well as when she taught Power Yoga. Kim has a really great ability to connect with her students. Her Vin to Yin class was very creative as she used the walls and gave the appropriate amount of time to experience the pose before moving on to the next one. I felt very comfortable and welcomed into her class. More and more students are wanting to take this class:-)” ~Deborah R

“Wow - what a creative and positive class. What a privilege to have taken this class with Kim. Hoping for some future Hip Hop classes with her as well.” ~Carolyn L

“I have never been to her class and I have to say, it was one of my favorite. I have been afraid to try someone new, but she seems so genuine and has a passion for yoga and made me feel really relaxed. I will definitely be taking more of her classes.” ~Cindy O

“Kim has such a gentle but engaging presence. I love the phrases she uses and love the kindness that she instills into her classes. Always a pleasure!”

“Kim's classes are great. Her pacing is excellent. You are never at a loss for what to do next. I really don't care for a fast flow. I like her classes a lot. I only do yoga once a week or so these days. I haven't been in one of her classes for a couple of years. But Kim is exceptional, in every way, really. One of my favorite instructors!”

“Kim is very, very helpful and attentive to individual yogi's needs. Inventive as far as the poses and their flow. ( and her music is not loud!... Vlad's pet peeve..) I used to take Yin before covid, and love the idea of combining it with a vinyasa flow.”

“Kim was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better beginners experience. She was so helpful and learned the strengths and weakness's of all the class members. I can't say enough good things about her.”
